A good tool kit for being able to repair and maintain your bike is one of those things that every cyclist should have, however few of us have.
I show how to find and repair clicking, ticks, creaks, squeaks, knocks, clunks, or other strange annoying sounds coming from a bike bottom bracket or cranks while pedaling. I show the most common causes for noises and how to fix them. Keep in mind a noise can seem to be coming from the bottom bracket, but can really be coming from somewhere else to the pedals, cranks, seat/seatpost, loose chain ring bolts, or even bottle cages.
On my way home from work one day I rescued this bike from the garbage. In this video I show a diagnosis of the problems and demonstrate how I fixed them using spare parts I had in my collection.

Here is a home made bike work stand. You would love a nice Park Tool bike stand, but they are pretty pricey.It is a lot cheaper to build your own. We lucked into a Park Stand at a yard sale years ago. But that doesn’t happen often, so this home built stand is a great alternative. The basic design can easily be modified for your own needs.
